How to increase your Immunity with Home Remedies

The immune system is the body’s defense mechanism to handle invaders. It is our body’s second line of defense after physical barriers like the skin and the mucous membrane. The immune system is located throughout the body and includes the thymus gland, the spleen, bone marrow, and a vast network of lymph nodes. The main function of the immune system is to prevent and fight infections, germs, and cancerous cells. It works 24/7 to keep our body healthy and ward off problems. A good immune system is essential for the proper functioning of the body. When the immune system becomes impaired, it can cause symptoms like frequent sickness, allergies, fatigue, digestive issues, delayed growth, and slow development.


BOOSTING THE IMMUNE SYSTEM IS VERY BENEFICIAL AND RELATIVELY EASY THROUGH LIFESTYLE CHANGES AND SOME SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES.

1. GARLIC

Garlic is a natural immune booster. A 2009 study published in environmental and molecular mutagenesis found that garlic enhances immune functions and has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral activities. It works wonders as an immunity booster also adds flavor to foods.

  1. Eat 2 to 3 raw cloves of garlic on an empty stomach daily.
  2. Also, add crushed garlic to your dishes. Avoid cooking garlic too much as it can destroy its active compound. 

2. Turmeric

Turmeric has antioxidants that are important for your health as well as the immune system. Curcumin the active compound that is present in turmeric helps to improve the orderliness of cell membranes which makes the cells more resistant to infection.

  1. Drink a warm glass of turmeric milk daily. To make the milk, boil 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder in 1 cup of milk. Add little honey { don’t add sugar} and drink it.
  2. You can also include turmeric in your cooking. 

3. Lemon

Lemon contains Vitamin C, which plays an important role in boosting your immunity. The main function of vitamin C is to help the white blood cells to function properly so that they can respond quickly to infection. Lemon also helps in removing toxins from the body as well as it helps to maintain body weight.

  1. Squeeze 1/2 lemon in a glass of lukewarm water.
  2. Also, add little honey.
  3. Drink it empty stomach each morning.
  4. After 30 minutes ear your breakfast.

4. Ginger

In Ayurveda, ginger is called a remedy to boost immunity. The warning effect of ginger helps to break down toxins that are accumulated in the body. Ginger reduces the risk of infection as well as improves blood circulation.

  1. For ginger tea, boil 1 tablespoon of chopped or grated ginger in 2 cups of water for 10 minutes. Strained the water, add honey and lemon juice, and drink it.
  2. Add dry or fresh ginger in your cooking.

5. Ashwagandha

Ashwagandha in Ayurveda helps in the boosting of the immune system reactivating and also increases the white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets counts. It acts as a scavenger and neutralizes the free articles. It is available in powdered, dried, or fresh roots in the market.

  1. Add 1 teaspoon of ashwagandha powder to a cup of water and boil it for 5 minutes. Strain it and add some honey. Drink this tea once daily.

NOTE- PREGNANT WOMEN, HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE PEOPLE SHOULD AVOID CONSUMPTION OF THIS TEA. PEOPLE WITH AUTOIMMUNE DISEASES SHOULD CONSULT A DOCTOR BEFORE CONSUMING.
